Earth Day 2009

On Wednesday April 22, 2009 Earth Day will be celebrated for the 40th time. This occasion gives us an opportunity to reflect on the important stewardship of the Earth that we each carry. There is a delicate balance between producing the goods needed for a modern society and at the same time protecting nature. Those in the mining industry consider this every day with each decision they make. At the same time it is important for people to understand that most things that they use in their everyday lives, like computers and cars, come from mineral resources. This is something to consider as we make choices everyday in how we live our lives.
