Industry Conferences
Every year exploration and mining groups around BC open their doors to welcome teachers to their annual conferences. To support participation, organizers waive conference fees for a limited number of teachers who gain access to the technical presentations, the tradeshows, and in some cases, a conference field trip. MREPBC facilitates teachers' participation and offers TOC support for a limited number of teaches to attend.



Invitations for teachers to upcoming industry conferences:

Mineral Exploration Roundup, western Canada's major mineral exploration conference, is held annually at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver. Since 2004 MREPBC has worked with conference hosts, the Association for Mineral Exploration BC (AME BC), to integrate teacher and students into this event. Read More >>>
Every April the Kamloops Exploration Group (KEG) hosts a conference showcasing the mineral exploration and mining in the region. KEG invites elementary student groups for special programs and waives the conference fees for interested teachers to attend for their own professional development. Read More >>>
Minerals North is an annual conference for the minerals industry in northern BC and serves as a forum for communities to learn about current activities and issues relate to mineral resources exploration and development.
