Intermediate: Junior Geologist
Partner-teachers Wanda Pickell and Andrea Eisler deliver this engaging, half-day workshop for Grade 4-5-6 classes. Students will be introduced to the rock cycle and learn how the physical properties of rocks tell how they formed. They will learn about rocks and minerals as non-renewable natural resources, and how the properties of rocks and minerals determine how they are used.
They will also learn about minerals as ingredients in rocks and how to identify minerals by their properties. All materials and tools required are provided by the presenter.
Duration: 3 hours. Morning workshops only.
Cost: $7 per student; minimum of $140 per workshop.
Bookings will not be taken in the month of December.
