Yukon Dan - Gold Panning

Yukon Dan Moore is a world champion gold panner who presents a one-of-a-kind gold panning workshop in classrooms for all grade levels. In this 75-minute workshop, Yukon Dan will connect gold panning with earth science, geology, natural resources, and the history of BC and Canada.

Cost: $7/student; minimum $210/workshop

This workshop can accommodate up to 30 students. Yukon Dan will bring two portable, gravel-lined "streams" for panning and a marvelous display of panning equipment and gold nuggets. Students will rotate through three work-stations: panning for gold, heavy mineral examination, and magnetic mineral separation.
